Doerr Thomas S. Doerr, born Dover, New Jersey, February 22, 1954; admitted to bar, 1984, New Jersey and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey; 1986, U.S. Court of Federal Claims; 1989, U.S. District Court, Eastern District and Southern District of New York, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. Education: Hope College (B.S. 1976); Rutgers University School of Law (J.D. 1984). Member: New Jersey Bar Association. CONCENTRATION: Commercial Litigation; Construction Litigation; Property Insurance Litigation. Thomas Doerr is a litigation partner who specializes in the areas of complex commercial, insurance and construction litigation. He regularly appears in the New Jersey federal and state courts, and has handled matters in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, West Virginia and Paris, France. He is permanently admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the United States District Courts for New Jersey, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Court of Claims. He has been admitted to practice pro hoc vice in many other Courts as well. During his more than twenty years of practice, Mr. Doerr has represented clients in hundreds of suits, mediations and arbitrations. Representative matters handled by Mr. Doerr include shareholder disputes, breach of contract claims, claims under the Uniform Commercial Code, commercial insurance subrogation claims, common law and statutory fraud matters, construction defects and failures and fire losses. Mr. Doerr is a 1984 graduate of Rutgers Law School- Newark, where he was a member of the Law Review, a teacher’s assistant, and represented the school in the National Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions. Before attending law school, Mr. Doerr graduated from Hope College, Holland, Michigan (1976) and served as a congressional assistant to United States Congresswoman Helen S. Meyner (D-NJ).
